Disaster Forecast & Warning via Public Broadcasting
Rapidly delivers disaster information, including forecast, warning, notice, and first aid in a disaster, via public broadcasting, pursuant to the provisions of par. 2, Article 38 of the Basic Act of Disaster and Safety Control
* Operating conditions
Broadcasts weather conditions, disaster forecast & warning, disaster status, actions for the reduction of damages, people¡¯s post-disaster/accident behavior, and other necessary matters for damage prevention and reduction through terrestrial/satellite broadcasting providers, etc.
CBS-based Emergency Disaster Message Broadcasting
System overview :
Advanced disaster information delivery system in the form of large-volume message broadcasting by entering a certain receiving ID in a cellular phone and rapidly sending the disaster status/conditions to multiple cellular-phone users at the same time through the mobile communication provider's base station.
Operating conditions :
Provides nationwide service for the 30 million persons who are using the CBS-receiving cellular phones of the country¡¯s three mobile communication providers through the CBS in-house system from December 1, 2006.
Auto Voice (Message) Notification System
System overview :
Sets up information about the major disaster prevention staff, including those who are residing in a place that is vulnerable to disasters and public servants in charge of disaster prevention, etc. in DB; also, upon the risk of a disaster, it quickly transmits disaster information to cellular phones, wired phones, village amplifiers, etc. in the form of voice or short messages.
Operating conditions :
Disaster broadcasting to the center and 232 wards, counties, and cities, and DB setup and operation for 500,000 users
Auto Rainfall Warning System
System overview :
Upon a heavy rains in mountains and valleys, it observes the rain conditions in the upstream area real-time and automatically and rapidly sends a warning and information to campers and vacationers in the downstream area.
Operating conditions :
This system has been installed and is currently being operated in 145 districts in the country that are vulnerable to disasters, such as mountains and valleys, riverside pleasure grounds, an naturally formed amusement parks.
Disaster Message EDB (Electronic Display Board)
System overview :
Rapidly displays and delivers information regarding disaster conditions via the EDB installed in a place that is vulnerable to disasters. It is also often used in national enlightenment campaigns that employ continuous PR, such as disaster prevention and environmental protection.
Operating conditions :
This system has been installed and is currently being operated in 299 places that are vulnerable to disasters, such as beaches and riverside pleasure grounds.
Radio (RDS) Disaster Warning Broadcasting
System overview :
Automatically operates amps in crowd-gathering places by using radio auto ON/OFF technology, and delivers information regarding disaster conditions to as many people as possible
Operating conditions :
Set up by showing a 2004 example in five districts, including the districts that were ravaged by the typhoon Maemi; the Bukhan River district (Hwacheon-gun, Gangwon), the Minrak district (Suyeong, Busan), the Banbyeon district (Yeongyang, Gyeongbuk), the Haewun district (Masan, Gyeongnam), and the Yeondeung district (Yeosu, Jeonnam).
