- The fire may have been started by a hiker.

- Disaster victims: 165 households (420 persons)
- Property damage totaling 23 billion KRW, including the loss of 973 ha of forest, 544
buildings (163 houses, 69 shops, and 312 other structures, including ancillary
structures like warehouses), 19 plastic greenhouses, 30 livestock enclosures, 650
pieces of agricultural machinery, and 17 works of art, including a bronze bell at
Naksansa Shrine, Wontongbojeon, Hongyemun, and others

- Notification of central government ministries and related organizations of the disaster situation and
emergency mobilization (Apr. 5, 02:45 a.m.)
- Installation of site command posts in Yangyang and Goseong County in Gangwon Province

- Emergency measures taken by the head of the Firefighting and Fire Prevention Division to prevent
a mountain forest fire (Apr. 05, 07:30 a.m.)
* All-out response to the disaster spearheaded by the Ministry of Agriculture and the head of the
Gangwon Province administrative office, among others.
- A Central Safety Management Committee was organized by the Prime Minister (Apr. 5, 18:40 p.m.).
* Announcement of the disaster (Apr. 5, 20:00 p.m.): Yangyang and Goseong areas
- Yangyang in Gangwon Province designated as a special disaster zone by the Ministry of Government
